Support for Younger Students
The special support unit helps younger students build training pathways to achieve their education and employment goals.
The Youth Pathways Program (YPP) targets those ‘at risk’ of leaving education. YPP officers work from the Youth Hubs on Elgar Campus (student lounge basement) and at the Whitehorse campus (Room W1.216).
Particular support is provided to students of the Institute’s suite of VCAL courses. Our pathways support helps keep VCAL students engaged through individual support, coaching and monitoring. They also help teachers deliver innovative applied learning projects which take the students into workplace and community settings.
A specialist Youth Worker supports younger students enrolled in Vocational Access and Education courses, particularly VCE.
