Message from City of Whitehorse CEO

For the tenth consecutive year, Whitehorse City Council is offering a scholarship valued at $4,500 to local students entering their first year of tertiary studies at Box Hill Institute.

The focus of the scholarships is a combination of academic achievements and community participation.

Whitehorse City Council has a long relationship with Box Hill Institute and is very proud to give local students an opportunity to receive the scholarship.

Council believes that providing scholarships to local residents helps continue the trend of having a higher than average number of people with tertiary qualifications living in the municipality.

It believes the more educated our community becomes, the more social capital and employment opportunities there will be available locally in future years.

First year students who live locally are encouraged to read the criteria to determine whether they are eligible to apply for a City of Whitehorse Scholarship.

Noelene Duff, Chief Executive Officer
