Learning in an adult environment

Box Hill Institute is a large education and training organisation with more than 40,000 student enrolments. On a daily basis thousands of students come to our four campuses in Box Hill.

We emphasise practical skills and knowledge development, so a lot of class time is spent in workshops, laboratories, training workplaces and on practical work. Classes are often scheduled in large blocks of time so students can complete multiple tasks.

Students moving from school to Box Hill Institute will find that they are scheduled in two to three hour blocks rather than 45 to 60 minute periods.

Younger learners may be in classes with adults. Our teachers adjust their style to meet the needs of all students.
