Student stories

Real training. Extraordinary results. And these are the stories to prove it.

In our vibrant and diverse Box Hill Institute community, there are so many student stories to tell. Some students have followed their life passion and gone on to a career. Other students at Box Hill Institute have discovered a whole new door opening for them. School age, mature age, local or international, every student’s experience is unique and many are inspiring.

These are some of the most famous student stories from Box Hill Institute. Some of them you may know, others are less well-known, but equally interesting.

Some of our most celebrated alumni include:

Tobie Puttock – working with world-renowned chef Jamie Oliver on the Melbourne version of the restaurant Fifteen
Shane Wakker – drummer for rock group Bodyjar
Curtis Stone – co-host of the ABC's 'Surfing the Menu' and host of Channel 7's 'My Restaurant Rules'
Guy Grossi – Grossi Florentino Restaurant in Melbourne
Chris Cheney – The Living End

Sriani Argaet -  Dancing With the Stars star
Glen Moriarty – presenter on Channel Nine’s Postcards and guest reporter for A Current Affair

There is a common thread – education is a journey, and not always the expected one. With the training provided at Box Hill Institute, that journey can lead to extraordinary results.
