Jessica Duncan is the type of student who embraces learning with open arms. It was this type of enthusiasm that saw her embrace all the opportunities which came her way when studying the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality and Advanced Diploma of Events at Box Hill Institute.
Described as an “excellent student”, her teachers highly praised Jessica for her positive attitude and dedication, which they believe will be the cornerstone for her success in the hospitality and events industry.
Some of the experience she gained while studying at the Institute included completing an Internship in Broome, as well as participating in an overseas Global Exchange Network study tour.
“The trip to Dubai on a study tour was an experience that I am proud to say that I will have for the rest of my life. The Internship at the Cable Beach Resort in Broome was also a rewarding and fulfilling experience that gave me a real taste of the industry at many levels. It made me realise that this was truly the vocation that I wished to pursue,” said Jessica.
Jessica is now working in the industry as a Supervisor at the Sebel Heritage in the Yarra Valley. “The experience I gained through the Internship and study tour has been a great benefit to me in my current role. It also assisted me to gain my current employment,” she said.
