Target Audience

For those wishing to improve their enamelling skills and anyone wishing to introduce enamelling to their existing skill base. Beginners are also catered for in this course as this course is suitable for all abilities.

Course Content

Gain basic technical knowledge and skill to apply enamel to a flat sheet of metal using some embellishment techniques.

Each session is workshop based, incorporating demonstration and 'hands on' doing.

Techniques covered include:
• Metal preparation – fabrication requirements for enamelling
• Cloisonné
• Roller printing for Baisse-taille

On completion of this course you will be aware of fabrication requirements for enamelling, plus have completed two sheet metal enamelled pieces.

Materials

A full list of materials follows. Some equipment and metals are provided but you will need to supply your own basic tool kit and precious metals.

Recommended Tool List:

. Fine sharp pair of scissors
. Pair of good quality fine pointed tweezers (Jewellers soldering tweezers are
good)
. One sheet each of 120#, 240#, 800# "Wet and Dry" abrasive paper which is
available at hardware stores
. Rubber gloves
. Towel
. Lint free tissue paper (ordinary tissues are not as good)
. Small containers for enamel, such as small plastic shot glasses
. Fine sable paint brush - size no.2 and/or 4 mm thick bird quill

Refund Policy (short courses)

Course Withdrawal & Refunds: Fee refunds will only be issued if a course withdrawal request is received at least five (5) working days prior to the date of course commencement. A 25% administration fee will be charged. No refunds will be issued for withdrawal requests received after this time.

Course Transfers: Students wishing to transfer to a future start date of the same course will be accepted if a request is received at least five (5) working days prior to the date of course commencement, and providing a suitable future course offering is available. For all transfer requests, a $30 transfer fee will apply.

Course Cancellation by the Institute: Where a course is cancelled due to unforseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.

Processing of refunds takes a minimum of twelve (12) working days. All refunds will be made directly to the payee, and will be mailed to the payee’s address as shown on the application form.
