Develop and refine your drawing ability with this extended course. This course covers general drawing, life drawing and portraiture in a range of different medium and techniques. You will be awarded a Statement of Attainment in two nationally recognised Units of Competency after completing this course. You can expect to undertake about one hour per week of self-paced activities in addition to scheduled class time.

Course Content

The course will consist of three main parts:

  • Introduction and Theory Lecture about the subject
  • Practical Demonstration of the above
  • Studio Exercises relevant to the topic

In this course you will –

  • Develop an understanding of space, volume, proportion, light, shade and tone.
  • Become familiar with the use of different media.
  • Acquire skills in techniques related to particular media.
  • Become competent in applying such media and techniques to represent specific objects and figures.

The course will include -

  • General Drawing
  • Advanced General Drawing
  • Life Drawing • Portraiture

Materials

A basic drawing kit will be provided to each student in the first session, which includes pencils, charcoal, kneedable eraser, visual diary and bulldog clips.

Refund Policy (short courses)

Course Withdrawal & Refunds: Fee refunds will only be issued if a course withdrawal request is received at least five (5) working days prior to the date of course commencement. A 25% administration fee will be charged. No refunds will be issued for withdrawal requests received after this time.

Course Transfers: Students wishing to transfer to a future start date of the same course will be accepted if a request is received at least five (5) working days prior to the date of course commencement, and providing a suitable future course offering is available. For all transfer requests, a $35 transfer fee will apply.

Course Cancellation by the Institute: Where a course is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.

Processing of refunds takes a minimum of twelve (12) working days. All refunds will be made directly to the payee, and will be mailed to the payee’s address as shown on the application form. For online/web-based fee payments made via credit card, refunds will only be made to the payee’s credit card as was used for the original fee payment.
