What does this course involve?

If you’re looking for an apprenticeship in the automotive trades, boost your chances of getting one with this pre-apprenticeship course.

Combining theory and practical training, this course will teach you how to use workplace tools and equipment, remove and replace conventional engines and dismantle and assemble engines. You will gain skills in dismantling and assembling carburettors, fuel pumps and transmissions, and in basic automotive electrical tasks. You will also develop skills in how to look for your perfect job.

How will I be selected for this course?

VTAC - To apply for a full time position in this course you must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries from August. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, you will be able to apply directly to the Institute.
