What does this course involve?

If you’re a school leaver, or an adult looking for a career in the automotive industry, this pre-vocational course is designed for you. It will give you basic skills in light vehicle servicing and maintenance.

You will learn how to inspect and service engines and cooling systems, test and service batteries and carry out repairs to single electrical circuits.

You will also inspect and service manual and automatic transmissions and learn how to perform manual production and oxy-acetylene welding.

This course will prepare you for an apprenticeship in the automotive industry.

Advanced Standing is approved recognition of prior learning that is displayed as an Exemption (EX) on the student’s academic record. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work.
