What does this course involve?

This course will give you a broad understanding of the refrigeration and air-conditioning industries so you can work with refrigeration and various cooling devices.
You will gain an understanding of the legal requirements and OH&S protocols in a refrigeration and air conditioning environment.
You will learn how to use the hand and power tools essential to the trade, and the electrical and gas equipment necessary to safely carry out your responsibilities.
You will progress to learning how to identify and handle various refrigerants and service and repair cooling systems.

  • have a training contract with an employer.

Industry gives preference to those students who have completed Year 11 and show an ability to cope with mathematics and science.
