What does this course involve?

This course will give you well-developed skills and knowledge to work in a range of film, television, radio and digital media industry roles. You will undertake training in camera, lighting, audio, and TV graphics and editing.

You will learn how to shoot TV content, direct television shows and segments and work as a freelancer. Your major studies include recording/mixing processes, sound editing, sound recording and production, television and broadcasting, television/studio production and the internet.

Can I apply?

  • You must have successfully completed Year 12 (or equivalent) or be mature age.
  • Evidence that you are interested in broadcast television (not film making, writing or acting techniques) will be highly regarded.

How do I apply?

Applying
To apply for this course, you will need to apply through VTAC as well as directly to the Institute.

VTAC - to apply for a full time position in this course you must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries from August. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, you will be able to apply directly to the Institute.

Folio
Interviews will be held in late November and early December, where you will be required to present a folio containing work demonstrating your ability.
