What does this course involve?

This qualification will provide you with basic competency and knowledge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) allowing you to function successfully in the current technology landscape.

During this course you will learn how to perform basic ICT functions using a personal computer and engage in fundamental online activities including how to use, communicate and securely search the internet. Operating spreadsheet applications and presentation packages is also covered as part of your studies.

This qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge in the basic operation and maintenance of computer and ICT systems.

This cerficate 1 level qualification has a strong core ICT base sharing the same core competencies as several other IT qualifications of the same level.

Depending on the stream chosen, this qualification offers pathways into a number of IT qualifications at Certificate IV to Advanced Diploma level.

Will my previous experience or study count?

Advanced Standing is approved recognition of prior learning that is displayed as an Exemption (EX) on the student’s academic record. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. This may be through formal or informal training, paid or unpaid work experience, and can earn you credit if relevant to your chosen course.
