What does this course involve?

This traineeship will teach you the essential skills and knowledge required to care for people in a home setting.

You will learn how to work effectively in a home and community care environment, gain valuable communication skills and facilitate cooperative behaviour in clients and colleagues and learn how to apply basic first aid.

This course may be delivered with the Certificate III in Aged Care to give you a dual qualification on successful completion.

What further study options will I have?

You may wish to progress into aged care or health-related courses such as the Diploma of Nursing (enrolled division 2 nursing), the Certificate IV in Disability Work or the Diploma of Leisure and Health and Certificate IV in Allied Health.

  • registered with an Australian Apprenticeship Centre
  • a training contract with an employer
  • a mature disposition and have a genuine interest in the care of older people.
  • the literacy and numeracy skills required  (all applicants are required to sit an online test).

  2. Concession Tuition Fee - $187.50
  3. Service and Amenities Fee - $65.00 or 90.00

Fee for Service - this course will cost $5,000.00 if you aren't eligible for government subsidised training.
