What does this course involve?

This apprenticeship floristry course will give you the essential skills and knowledge for a successful career. You will learn basic skills essential in any workplace, such as communication, housekeeping and workplace safety. You will learn industry-specific creative skills such as how to prepare and display floristry stock and how to arrange foliage and flowers in boxes, posies, baskets or bowls.
You will also cover the retail side - how to provide service to customers, operate retail equipment and perform stock control.

You will gain management and retail skills such as how to minimise theft, and how to balance registers and terminals, together with the advanced, creative techniques of floristry stock preparation and display.

Will my previous experience or study count?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. The Victorian state government recently announced a series of government funding and fee policy changes for TAFEs.
