What does this course involve?

Improve your chances of getting a human resources management role with this qualification. This course will give you the skills and training you need for supervisory, consulting or managerial roles. Your core studies will consist of managing human resources services, performance management systems and workforce planning. You can then choose from a range of electives in human resources management, learning and development and workplace relations.

What employment opportunities will I have?

Almost all businesses require a human resource department to oversee staff hiring, termination, salaries and the general well-being of employee. Typical employers include large private enterprises, large government organisations and human resource recruitment consultancies.

Advanced Standing is approved recognition of prior learning that is displayed as an Exemption (EX) on the student’s academic record. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. This may be through formal or informal training, paid or unpaid work experience, and can earn you credit if relevant to your chosen course.

This unit takes an overview of human resources services and includes business ethics.

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to design, implement and oversee performance management systems. It includes ongoing performance feedback strategies as well as formal performance feedback meetings. Specific intervention associated with underperformance and/or misconduct is also included.

This unit address describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage industrial relations matters within an organisation, with day to day involvement. It includes strategic planning and policy development for industrial relations as well as negotiation, conflict management and dispute resolution.
