What does this course involve?

Are you looking to develop your career in marketing or product management in small to medium-sized organisations? This course provides you with an understanding of marketing across a range of industries.

You will develop your understanding of marketing strategies, writing marketing plans and managing marketing processes. You will undertake direct and international marketing. This study option is suited to school leavers and those who are not currently engaged in a marketing field, but would like to pursue this as a further career option.

This program is nationally accredited and provides a pathway to higher qualifications.

This course may provide you with employment opportunities as a marketing team leader, marketing team leader, sales officer and product manager.

What further study options will I have?

After successful completion you will have many options for further study, which could include the Advanced Diploma of Marketing or Advanced Diploma of Management.

Can I apply?

You must have at least one of the following:

  • successfully completed Year 12
  • successfully completed Certificate IV in Marketing
  • be mature age with work experience demonstrating an underpinning knowledge in the field of marketing.

How do I apply?

VTAC and direct entry.

All direct and VTAC applicants will be assessed individually and advised on a study plan to meet their goals.

A Year 12 applicant with no relevant experience will be eligible to study at Certificate IV level for six months, progress to a Diploma for six months and complete an Advanced Diploma in a further six months.

If you have relevant experience or another qualification you may be advised you can enroll directly into a Diploma or Advanced Diploma.

All applicants through VTAC will receive priority processing for beginning of year offers. You must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, direct applicants will be processed.

  1. Tuition Fee - $4.33 per hour (max $2,500.00)
  2. Service and Amenities Fee - $65.00 or 90.00

Fee For Service Fees

Advanced Standing is approved recognition of prior learning that is displayed as an Exemption (EX) on the student’s academic record. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. This may be through formal or informal training, paid or unpaid work experience, and can earn you credit if relevant to your chosen course.
