What does this course involve?

Build on your existing business skills or Certificate IV in Business or Marketing qualification, and enhance your career prospects with this diploma.

You will gain essential business skills such as delivering customer service, maintaining financial records and producing documents.

You will develop an extensive understanding of human resources and public relations principles, and learn how to monitor a safe workplace.

This course is also available to international students.

What further study options will I have?

After successful completion you may choose to further your study with the Advanced Diploma of Management.

Can I apply?

You must have at least one of the following:

  • successfully completed Year 12
  • successfully completed Certificate IV in Business
  • be mature age with work experience demonstrating an underpinning knowledge in the field of management.

How do I apply?

VTAC and Direct Entry - rolling enrolments All direct and VTAC applicants will be assessed individually and advised on a study plan to meet their goals.
A Year 12 applicant with no relevant experience will be eligible to study at Certificate IV level for six months, progress to a Diploma for six months and complete an Advanced Diploma in a further six months.
If you have relevant experience or another qualification you may be advised you can enroll directly into a Diploma or Advanced Diploma.
All applicants through VTAC will receive priority processing for beginning of year offers. You must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, direct applicants will be processed.

Length of course

Full time: 1.5 years (incorporating Certificate III in Business and Certificate IV in Business OR Certificate IV in Marketing)

Government Subsidised Fees

  1. Tuition Fee - $4.33 per hour (max $2,500.00)
  2. Service and Amenities Fee - $65.00 or 90.00

Fee For Service Fees

Will my previous experience or study count?

Advanced Standing is approved recognition of prior learning that is displayed as an Exemption (EX) on the student’s academic record. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. This may be through formal or informal training, paid or unpaid work experience, and can earn you credit if relevant to your chosen course.
