What does this course involve?

If you are an artistic person, and want to explore various opportunities in design, this course will give you an understanding of the graphic, communication, multimedia (or interior) and fashion design areas. You will learn how to create design concepts, and select the right techniques and media to communicate your ideas. You will gain skills in researching and applying techniques for graphic design, as well as develop your knowledge of colour application, typography and digital production. You will complement these practical skills with study in design history, drawing, and Occupational Health and Safety.

Entrance requirements

  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass.
  • Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.
  • English Language Proficiency

  • A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
  • A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.
  • Special admission requirements

    Applicants are required to submit an artwork folio for assessment.

    Cost

    $AUD10,500 per year, plus amenities and materials fees.

    Although you gain skills necessary to pursue a career in the design field, the purpose of this course is to prepare you for further study.

    What further study options will I have?

    You may wish to progress into the Diploma of Arts, university design degrees or interactive multimedia courses. You may wish to specialise in graphic art, graphic design, multimedia or interior design.
