What does this course involve?

This course will give you the essential skills and knowledge to work as an Enrolled Nurse in a variety of health care settings.

You will learn how to implement basic nursing care, assess clients’ health and analyse health-related information.

Learn how to administer and monitor medications, and care for older clients, acute care clients and people with mental health conditions.

You will develop effective communication skills and learn how to work within legal and ethical parameters in nursing.

Entrance requirements

  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Pass in mathematics at Year 12 or equivalent
  • Pass in Year 12 science subject eg biology
  • An overall IELTS score of 6.5 (Academic version) with no band score less than 6.0
  • Instruction is in English, thus ability to handle written and verbal communication in English is essential

English language proficiency

A minimum IELTS overall score of 6.5 (Academic) with no band less than 6.0.
A minimum TOEFL score of 575 for paper examination; 232 for computer based and 90 for Internet based.

Special admission requirements

  • Current International Police Check (Note: Students will also be required to have a Current Australian Police Check)
  • Proof of Immunisation related to Health Care Worker Category A i.e. Diphtheria/Tetanus; Poliomyelitis; Measles/Mumps/Rubella; Varicella Zoster Virus (Chicken Pox); Hepatitis B; Mantoux Test

Cost

$AUD24,450 for 1.5 years, plus amenities and materials fees.
You will also need to allow approximately $AUD600 for books and equipment.

What employment opportunities will I have?

This course may provide you with employment opportunities as an Enrolled Nurse in a range of health settings such as; acute care, chronic care, aged care, rehabilitation, and mental health.

Division 2 nurses work under the direction of a Division 1 nurse and in collaboration with Division 1 and 3 registered nurses to support the health and wellbeing of people.

What further study options will I have?

This course may also provide pathways into the Advanced Diploma of Nursing, and other higher qualifications in health care.
