What does this course involve?

If you enjoy being with children, and possess patience, understanding and a willingness to take responsibility for your actions, this is the course for you.

This course will give you the skills and knowledge to design and implement engaging programs for infants, pre-schoolers and school-age children.

Learn all about children’s social, emotional and psychological development, planning care routines and handle all aspects of administration in a child care environment.

You will also learn how to provide children with a safe and healthy environment and work with children who have additional needs.

Entrance requirements

Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered. You will be required to participate in a practical placement. This placement is full time and unpaid.

English Language Proficiency

A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic). A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.

Special admission requirements

You must have a current Working with Children Check and a current National Police Record Check (both in Australia and in your home country).
Applicants are required to complete a questionnaire/interview - contact International Student Services for details.
Applicants should be physically fit, enjoy being with children, have patience, understanding, energy, adaptability, and willingness to take responsibility.
Students who accept an offer of a place must provide evidence of having commenced an immunisation course against Hepatitis B and be fully immunised against Rubella and Tetanus. An immunisation course against Hepatitis A is also advisable.

Cost

$AUD10,500 per year, plus amenities and materials fees.
