Glen Wilson

Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication

Working across a range of jobs, Glen couldn’t find what it was he really wanted to do.  Whilst working as a welder, Glen decided that steel fabrication was what he wanted to do and he managed to secure an apprenticeship.  Obtaining a qualification was just what Glen needed to update his skills and increase his knowledge and employability within the industry.

Glen enjoyed the practical side of the course and learning the different forms of welding. Completing projects gives him a lot of satisfaction, and he takes pride in his work.  “I started in the trade from scratch, but now I’ve come so far - reading off drawings and working offsite.  My skills have really developed and I am confident in what I’m doing,” Glen said.

Working at A-Line Building Systems, Glen is always looking for ways to improve processes.

Glen who enjoys camping and fishing also works restoring cars in his spare time.  The future looks good for Glen, who would like to work in the mines at some stage to gain some different life experiences.
