Growing up in country Victoria was fun.
It was great as a kid, but when it came to a establishing a career Michael Bruns felt he had no option but to head to the city in the hope of securing an apprenticeship – he wanted to be an electrician.
“I always dreamed of being an electrician, it was just what I wanted to do,” Michael said. “When I got here and started looking I realised how hard it was going to be, but I just kept on trying and now I work for one of the biggest electrical companies in the country, Stowe Australia.”
Michael comments on how much he loves what he does and his hope to become a foreman and then ultimately a project manager. Michael’s expertise is obviously valued by Stowe Australia as they ask him to do presentations to their first year apprentices.
Michael is a determined, committed person which is demonstrated in his ability to coach junior girls’ basketball for the SEBC Saints. He expects the same level of dedication and commitment from his players, as he knows through hard work success is achieved.
