Government subsidised TAFE places (Victorian residents)
The following refund information applies to Victorian residents enrolled in a government subsidised course in any mode of study, including on campus and off campus/correspondence.
Foundation & Certificate I to IV courses
Tuition, and service and amenity fees
You must officially withdraw via submission of the relevant Course Exit or Unit Withdrawal form.
If you officially withdraw within four weeks after the official commencement of the course (not units), you will be eligible for a tuition and amenities fee refund, less the minimum tuition fee for your course category.
No refund applies for withdrawals after four weeks after official course commencement.
Materials fees
Course teaching materials fees and retained course items fees may be refunded at the discretion of the relevant teaching centre at any time during the enrolled calendar year, until 1 December, upon official withdrawal via submission of a Course Exit or Unit Withdrawal form.
The refund depends upon the time elapsed and materials already purchased, supplied or utilised at the time of withdrawal.
Diploma, Advanced Diploma & Vocational Graduate Certificate courses
Tuition, and service and amenity fees
You must officially withdraw via submission of the relevant Course Exit or Unit Withdrawal form.
If you officially withdraw on or prior to the unit census date you will receive a full refund of tuition and service & amenity fees for those unit/s. No refund applies for a unit once the census date has passed.
VET FEE-HELP
If you have deferred payment of your fees through VET FEE-HELP, and you officially withdraw on or prior to the unit census date, your VET FEE-HELP application will be cancelled for those units.
A VET FEE-HELP debt will still be incurred by you for those units in which you withdraw after the unit census date has passed.

The 2010 census dates for units studied under TAFE Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Vocational Graduate Certificate courses are:
