Pre-apprenticeships

Pre-apprenticeships provide the opportunity for those wishing to gain apprenticeships to complete prerequisite courses relevant to the industry they hope to work in.

Pre-apprenticeships are aimed at early school leavers and unemployed people wishing to return to the workforce. However, anyone wishing to improve skills and gain insight in an area of interest can enrol.

As it can be difficult to gain apprenticeships without experience, pre-apprenticeships can give you an edge and impress potential employers.  Completing a course from the program can also provide exemptions from subjects studied in the first year of an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships

Starting an apprenticeship is an effective and exciting way to enter an industry.

Apprenticeships offer a practical approach to training. Students receive payment as a full time employee while being trained by qualified industry and teaching professionals.

To help increase your chances of gaining an apprenticeship Box Hill Institute also offers an extensive pre-apprenticeship program.

Can I enrol?
Yes, if you are a permanent resident of Australia aged between 15 and 64.

Note: These TAFE courses require that you find an employer or a group training company that agrees to employ you.

Box Hill Institute offers a range of nationally-recognised apprenticeship courses.
