MiBO

Box Hill Institute’s Centre for Performing Arts would like to introduce you to its innovative Music Industry Business Office (MiBO).

MiBO has been established as a training workplace operating as a real business for music students focusing on all aspects of small business management including the production of student recordings, development of a website to include sales of physical and downloadable product, a booking agency, sound and lighting hire company, band and artist management and event management as well as providing valuable industry consultation and liaison.

Students in the Diploma of Music Industry (Business) course and the Bachelor of Applied Business in Music Industry are actively involved with MiBO.

MiBO’s goals include releasing albums and other recording projects each year (written, performed, recorded and produced by Box Hill Institute students). ‘Ride the Wave’, was the inaugural album written, performed and produced by students under the MiBO label.

‘Ride the Wave’ is available at all Box Hill Institute bookshops and at Whitehorse Music (927 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill). Other releases include ‘Make your Mark’ and ‘The 2008 Student Music Sampler’.
