What do we do?
The Centre for Biotechnology and Animal Sciences provide a wide range of accredited and short course training programs that provide the skills for our graduates to obtain jobs in animal and science-based industries.
Graduates are uniquely equipped to forge careers in industries including animal studies, biotechnology, industrial sciences, veterinary nursing and zoo keeping to name a few.
A program for VCE students studying Unit 4 in Biology is also run by the Centre, called Flower Pirates, which addresses the Outcome 1 of Unit 4, Continuity and Change.

Shop Front / Retail
The Centre has a number of services to the community, including high quality professional veterinary and grooming services through Pets on Elgar. This gives our students the opportunity to work alongside vets, vet nurses and groomers in a real life situation as part of their training.
Student opportunities
We provide opportunities for our students to undertake industry-based work placement as part of their course and our teachers work closely with employer and employee representatives so that students are a good fit for the industries into which they are placed.
Partnerships
The Centre focuses on biotechnology training and is home to BioSkills, the Specialist Centre in Biotechnology Training. There are a number of industry services available through Bioskills and the Biotechnology team.
