| Competency - based Qualification
Pathways |
Training programs based on the competency
units that are found in nationally endorsed training packages. |
| Credit transfer |
A training course result from one RTO is recognised
by another RTO for credit towards a qualification. |
| EE-OZ Training Standards |
The national body responsible for
Electrotechnology training (including cabling) in Australia. |
| Short-term Experienced Cablers |
Cablers who have accumulated 600 hours or more of cabling
experience over the last two year. Other conditions apply
– see elsewhere in this website. |
| Novices |
Individuals who have less cabling
experience that a ‘short-term experienced cabler’. |
| Open Registration |
ACA CPR registration which allows work on any communications
installation. See CPR Rules elsewhere on this website.

| Registered Training Organisations - RTOs |
An organisation which is recognised by its state or
territory training authority as a provider of nationally
endorsed training programs. |
| Restricted Registration |
ACA CPR registration which allows work on communications
installation which lead away from the network boundary.

| RPL/RCC |
Recognition of Prior Learning or Recognition of Current
Competency (either term is acceptable) is a process RTOs
use to give a person credit for learning results they
completed before enrolling in a course. The learning can
be another course or learning on-the-job. |
| Self test |
A person undertakes a test without supervision to measure
understanding of course content. Results of self-tests
are not used to make final assessments in this website. |
| Long-term Experienced cablers |
Cablers who have extensive experience in cabling, prior
employment with an organisation working in communications
or telecommunications, and records of training relevant
to the ACA CPR Pathways. Other conditions apply –
see elsewhere in this website. |
