Areas of Responsibility

 

Sue’s role is to provide leadership across Box Hill Institute in relation to governance frameworks, practices and systems. 

 

Other responsibilities include:

 

  • managing support services for the Institute Board and Board committees,
  • managing Board and Institute policies,
  • overseeing the administration of the Vocational Education & Training Act, the Board Constitution and Ministerial Directions.
  • overseeing and co-ordinating the implementation and operation of the Institute’s Quality Management Framework and Quality Management System, including the establishment and maintenance of the Internal Quality Assurance Audit function for on and off-shore training delivery
  • chairing the Institute’s Quality & Continuous Improvement Committee
  • overseeing the Institute’s intellectual property, copyright, privacy and freedom of information policy and compliance functions
  • overseeing the Institute's Marketing and Customer Service function

 

Professional Background

Sue has had 34 years of experience in a diverse range of roles in the field of education and training, with a particular focus in the past 12 years on the areas of corporate governance, quality assurance, risk management. In addition to implementing and managing International Standards Organisation (ISO) Certified Quality Systems, Sue was a trained evaluator for the Australian Business Excellence Awards, and participated in 2006 on a working party to develop the AQTF Excellence Framework, piloting the framework at Box Hill.
