NHP

NHP is a wholly Australian-owned company that manufactures, imports and merchandises a wide range of low-voltage industrial switchgear, motor control equipment and other technical electrical products.

Partnership overview
NHP and Box Hill Institute developed a relationship in mid-1998 when NHP was invited to sponsor the Centre for Electrical Trades' learning materials.

When Box Hill Institute suffered a serious electrical fire in early 2000, NHP came to the rescue and a potential long-term closure was reduced to short-term inconvenience. Box Hill Institute is a showcase of NHP's products and services and is constantly raising the company’s profile to industry and the wider community.

Student benefits
NHP generously provide the Centre for Electrical and Refrigeration Trades with electrical components and electrical switchgear equipment. This enables our students to train on commonly used equipment.

They also provide an Award  to assist an electrical apprentice in their electrical apprenticeship schooling. The scholarship is primarily aimed at a student from a low socioeconomic background. The scholarship provides the student with the academic fees, prescribed texts and materials for one year of study at Box Hill Institute.

Apprentices and post-trade students attending the Centre utilise NHP’s training facilities and function rooms to keep up-to-date with the latest switchgear and associated components used in industry today.

Staff benefits
NHP supports ongoing training; they readily welcome Box Hill Institute staff to further develop their work skills by attending NHP seminars and forums on the electrotechnology industry.
