Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts with Honours (Major in Visual Arts/Film and Television), Monash University

 

Areas of Responsibility

Maria is an expert in transforming ideas into action, and sustainable benefits and works side-by-side with management and her team to improve operational performance quality and profitability. Her specific responsibilities are:

  • Leading and managing the consolidation and expansion of business relationships with existing clients and developing business relationships with new clients
  • Leading business development for the domestic sector market ensuring continuing growth of the Institute’s commercial revenue and surplus
  • Leading the development, implementation and monitoring of the annual Marketing and Enterprise Services Plan to ensure the achievement of financial, sales and profitability targets
  • Leading the enhancement of the Institute’s market research capacity, focussing on the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, to ensure that the Institute’s business decisions are based on the most current and up-to-date available information
  • Leading the development, implementation and monitoring of all related projects for enterprise based work Institute wide
  • Leading consolidation and implementation of selected Government programs
  • Managing tender teams for large Government and Commercial bids.

 

Professional Background

Maria has 20 years experience working in organisations in the training sector.  Her previous roles include Manager, Group Employment (Deputy CEO) VICTEC Ltd and Manager, STEP Group Training and Deputy Centre Manager, Job Futures.

Representing the Institute as a Board member and Chair on the Whitehorse Business Group.
Representing the Institute as a Board member on Regional Development Australia, Melbourne East Committee.
