Who we are

 

The Centre for Media Design and Arts delivers education and training in design and arts practice.

 

We provide training in a range of media, design and arts related areas with the aim of preparing our students for entry into the creative industries sector. This is a vibrant and constantly changing arena and we ensure our staff stay in touch with current trends. Many are also practitioners working at their craft and involved in exhibitions. You can have confidence that you will be learning from experts in the field of your choice.

 

Communication of ideas in all aspects of the arts, from the established to the experimental, from the tactile to the electronic, is vital to us.

 

We have many links with industry that may help you find your way into your dream occupation. Many students are eligible for industry-sponsored awards and we also offer a variety of scholarships for further support.

 

We can help you establish a freelance business, work as a community artist, or find employment in other creative fields.

 

Our graduates have won awards, participated in international exchange programs and have shown work in numerous group and solo exhibitions.

 

Our facilities

 

Primarily at the Whitehorse Campus, our facilities include specialist studio spaces, jewellery workshops, fashion manufacturing and designing rooms, access to a fully equipped television studio (Elgar Campus), printmaking, drawing and painting spaces, computer labs, ceramics making and firing facilities and design spaces.

 

Our computer labs incorporate the latest in industry standard software, for example Adobe and CAD Vector Works. If industry is using it, we have it!
