"The standard of the floristry department at Box Hill Institute was excellent."
For Box Hill Institute graduate Lisa Anderson, gaining a qualification in floristry was enough to put a smile on her face.
That smile turned to sheer delight when she was announced as a finalist in the 2005 Outstanding Student of the Year Awards – Apprentice category.
"I can now say, 'I’m Lisa Anderson and I’m a qualified florist'," she said.
Lisa attributed her success to the training she received while studying the Certificate III in Floristry.
"The standard of the floristry department at Box Hill Institute was excellent," she said.
"I couldn’t have received training as comprehensive at any other training Institute."
Lisa said her skills improved immensely due to the education she received at the Institute.
"Today I feel competent and confident in myself and in my work," she said.
Lisa admitted the three year apprenticeship required a lot of commitment but was all worth it.
