"I had so much support, advice and experience passed on to me from my teachers."
Box Hill Institute multimedia student Joel Cogger believes learning is always an essential part of life.
His motivation to learn led to his nomination in the Institute's 2005 Outstanding Student of the Year Awards – Vocational category.
"You can never stop learning," Joel said. "We start the day we’re born and don’t stop until we die."
Joel was the youngest student to fast-track the Advanced Diploma of Multimedia.
"This is an amazing opportunity for me," he said. "I gained much more than I expected."
Joel said he had learnt more in his two and a half years at Box Hill Institute than many people learn over 10 years.
"I had so much support, advice and experience passed on to me from my teachers," Joel said.
"They were only too happy to give me advice and tips on projects I was working on outside my studies."
"What I have learnt has really increased my confidence in the work I do," he said. "It has enabled me to tackle projects with enthusiasm and diligence."
Joel intends to open his own studio one day.
