At just 18 years of age, Box Hill Institute student Andrew Obersnel was beating the professionals at their own games.
As the recipient of the Andrew Jackson Scholarship, he was entitled to attend the intensive Cisco convention, Networkers, held in New Orleans.
Networkers is targeted at Cisco-trained computer technicians from all around the world and includes tutorials and techtorials for professional development purposes.
Andrew received the scholarship in his first year of the Advanced Diploma of Computer Systems with Box Hill Institute.
The Networkers convention offered computer challenges in between tech sessions and here Andrew excelled, achieving top scores.
In the end, he achieved the best overall scores against many other professional Cisco computer technicians with years of training and experience.
“I really cleaned up, I ended up walking back to my hotel with boxes of prizes,” he said.
After finishing the Advanced Diploma, Andrew continued his studies with Box Hill Institute as a Bachelor of Computer Systems (Networking) student.
