Natasha...has loved her time at the Institute and believes teachers and students alike keep her spirits high.
It can be assumed that when someone wins first place for their vase arrangement in the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, they wouldn’t describe the event as embarrassing.
However, Box Hill Institute floristry student, Natasha Whitelaw felt very red-faced when her arrangement won first place. In fact, she thought her classmates were playing a joke on her.
“I didn’t like my entry whatsoever,” she said. “I’d been joking with my friends that it would be funny if I won...then I did.”
Originally, Natasha entered her vase arrangement to simply gain feedback from industry professionals. “I just wanted to do the show for the experience,” she said. “I really didn’t expect to win.”
Natasha, who is studying Certificate II in Floristry, has loved her time at the Institute and believes teachers and students alike keep her spirits high. “I’ve loved it, the teachers are really good and helpful and the student’s are really friendly,” she said.
