“Our boss requests his apprentices go to Box Hill Institute...he had tried other TAFE institutions and found that Box Hill Institute was the best."
Ever since winning the Box Hill Institute’s Centre for Hair, Beauty and Floristry’s Stage Three Apprentice of the Year, graduate Brooke Addis has been receiving requests from clients to use her services, not to mention a few job offers.
“Yes, I’ve received job offers, but I wouldn’t leave my current job,” she said.
“My boss is unbelievably proud, he’s even put my story from the local paper up on the front window,” she said. Brooke’s employer would be even more proud considering Box Hill Institute was his first choice for educating his apprentices.
“Our boss requests his apprentices go to Box Hill Institute,” Brooke explained. “I think he had tried other TAFE institutions and found that Box Hill Institute was the best."
“At the Institute I not only received all my basic skills and training, but I was also able to meet other hairdressers,” she said.
One important aspect of Brooke’s training was the fact that she was able to pace her own learning. “The self-paced aspect was fantastic as I could develop at my own rate,” she said.
