| Have you ever wanted to look inside Box Hill Institute and find out what is it like? What courses do they offer? What is the teaching style? Well, an Institute tour could answer all your questions and more. The Schools Liaison Unit conducts tours of the Institute for individuals or groups (up to 50). Students range in age and come from a wide variety of locations including metropolitan and country areas. We can cater for school groups or smaller groups from agencies. Each tour takes aproximately an hour to complete, including time for lunch. The format for tours involves a short talk about how the TAFE systems works and Box Hill Institute in particular. Each student receives a showbag containing information about the courses we have on offer. We then visit different areas of the Institute to give students an overall look at our facilities and a broad sense of the variety of courses on offer. A tour of our Elgar Campus could include visits to Hair and Beauty; Hospitality; Automotive; Engineering; Airconditioning and Refrigeration, Biological Sciences; Broadcast television, Building and Plumbing; and Business Programs. A tour of our Nelson Campus could include visits to Computer Technology, Electrical, and Information Sciences. A tour of our Whitehorse Campus would include visits to four areas from the following: Performing Arts—Music; Dance and Fitness; Multimedia; Fashion; Visual Arts; Graphic Arts; and Furniture Design. We give you the option of touring whichever Campus you feel would best suit your students and can tailor a tour to suit you or your students’ interests. To enable us to show the 'Institute at work' morning tours should ideally start at 10.30am and afternoon tours at 1.30pm.
