Interested in completing an apprenticeship? Box Hill Institute has developed an extensive pre-apprenticeship program to help you increase your chances of gaining an apprenticeship.

Pre-apprenticeships provide the opportunity for those wishing to gain apprenticeships to complete prerequisite courses relevant to the industry they hope to work in.

Pre-apprenticeships are aimed at early school leavers and people who are unemployed and wishing to return to the workforce. However, anyone wishing to improve skills and gain insight in an area of interest is eligible to enrol.

It can be difficult for students to gain an apprenticeship through lack of experience in the field. Pre-apprenticeships assist by giving students theoretical experience in the industry.

Completing a course from the program can also provide exemptions from subjects studied in the first year of an apprenticeship. This means that while pre-apprenticeships involve extra study, they actually can cut the workload down in subsequent years.

To get that edge, and show a prospective employer your interest and initiative in working for their business, a pre-apprenticeship can be of great benefit.
