Media and Design Awards

Centre for Media, Design and Arts

The Centre for Media, Design and Arts is offering four new awards for students commencing study in 2009. There is one award available in each of the following courses

• Certificate IV in Broadcasting (Television)
• Certificate IV in Multimedia (Games Development)
• Diploma of Arts – Studio Stitch/Textiles
• Associate Degree in Fashion Technology

These awards have been introduced to alleviate financial or personal stress during students’ first year of study by offering a 50% fee reduction (based on published full fee rates).

Selection Criteria

Selection is based on

• proof of financial hardship i.e. Centrelink or Health Care card
• proven interest and passion for the relevant industry
• recommendations from employer or other external party identifying the applicant’s commitment to work and suitability to the vocation
• recommendation from course teacher/s where applicable
• past academic achievement
• outcome of scheduled interview where applicable

Eligibility

Applicants for a Box Hill Institute MDA Access and Equity Award must

• be an Australian citizen or hold permanent resident status
• undertake full time study in the specified course (part time in the case of Diploma of Arts – Studio Stitch/Textiles) at Box Hill Institute
• meet all entry requirements for the courses as specified in the course information on this website
• be offered a place in the specified course for 2009

After short listing, interviews will take place if applicable.
