| There are four scholarships available in 2009 for local, full time students expecting to successfully complete the first year of one of the following courses: Student must apply in their first year or first semester of study. ICT Academic Achievement ScholarshipThere are two scholarships available to students who have displayed academic success and enthusiasm. The scholarship covers the cost of fees and materials during the second year of study, and offers the opportunity to attend a relevant industry event. ICT Access and Equity ScholarshipThere are two scholarships available to students who have endured financial or personal difficulties during their studies/past studies. The scholarship covers the cost of fees and materials during the second year of study. Scholarship Terms and Conditions- Continuation of the award is conditional on the successful applicant maintaining satisfactory progress in studies and complying with the rules of the Institute
- Second round offers may be made if a successful recipient of a scholarship does not receive a place in the specified course or does not accept the place offered or the scholarship
- The Institute reserves the right not to award any scholarship
- Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application
- There shall be no right of review of any decision in relation to a scholarship
Selection CriteriaSelection is based on the following: ICT Academic Achievement Scholarship - Academic achievement during study at Box Hill Institute
- Demonstrated interest in chosen career and industry
- Ability to represent the centre as an ambassador to potential students
- Recommendation by a staff member
- Aspirations and long-term goals
ICT Access & Equity Scholarship - Academic achievement during study at Box Hill Institute
- Proof of financial hardship
- Outcome of scheduled interview if applicable
- Recommendation from employer or external party (either written or based on reference checks) identifying the applicant’s commitment to work and suitability to the vocation
- Recommendation from Course teacher/s if applicable
EligibilityApplicants for a Box Hill Institute ICT Scholarship must: - Be an Australian citizen or hold permanent resident status in Australia
- Undertake full time study in the specified course at Box Hill Institute (full time for a minimum of the first 6 months)
