Scholarship cements right decision
The winner of this year’s HannanPrint Graphic Arts scholarship, mature-aged student, Ross Wilkinson, said the acknowledgement it provided cemented his decision to return to study.
Ross, who is studying for a Diploma of Graphic Arts, returned to study aged 35 to pursue a life-long interest in drawing.
“I’ve done a lot of things through my working life, but I decided it was time for a career change. Graphics has always been in the back of my mind since school, as something that I wanted to pursue. Winning this scholarship has made me realise that I am heading in the right direction. It was a great boost to my confidence and cemented my belief that I had made the right decision returning to study,” said Ross.
“I chose Box Hill Institute, as I went to a number of Open Days, and it was the first one where I had a positive experience, and it was enough for me to make up my mind.”
“The money from the scholarship is a great help, as I’ve had to cut down my working hours. However, the benefit to me is much more than just the money. I’d like to thank the sponsors for this great opportunity as I’m extremely grateful ? it means a lot more than I can put into words.”
