Adds up to a $1200 scholarship
A desire to return to the workforce after 15 years has been rewarded with the RSM Accounting Scholarship for sole-parent and former school teacher, Caroline Langdon.
Caroline was selected for the $1200 scholarship for excelling at her studies in the Advanced Diploma of Accounting.
“I was surprised and delighted to win the scholarship,” said Caroline. “I found out about it the day before applications closed, so I didn’t have much time to fill out the application. Trying to organise study, family commitments and earning a living has been really difficult as a sole-parent, but the scholarship has been a real blessing as it pays for my course fees plus some of the expensive accounting books”.
“I feel accounting is something I should have done the first-time around in my studies, as I would have been better suited to it. However, I didn’t realise when I started what how many options there would be in the financial services sector."
"I was very impressed with RSM Accounting, not only for giving me this award, but also because they sent a letter afterwards telling me that if I ever need any help with employment to let them know. It was just really encouraging, in the sense of being selected for something, which means I must be doing well!”
