Corinna's fashion scholarship win
Corinna Howard receives some help with tuition expenses with the Rotary Club of Box Hill Central Fashion Scholarship.
Box Hill Institute fashion student Corinna Howard recently won the Rotary Club of Box Hill Central Fashion Scholarship.
As part of the scholarship, the Rotary Club awarded Corinna a $700 cheque to assist with her studies.
“It’s going to be a great help. I feel great about it—I’m overwhelmed. It’s such a relief for next term,” she said.
On 12 April, Corinna was presented with the scholarship at a special breakfast with the Rotary Club of Box Hill Central at the Box Hill Golf Club.
Corinna said she would use the scholarship to pay course fees and buy materials needed to construct garments.
She said she discovered the scholarship after fashion teacher Tricia Hynes sent her a letter about it in the mail.
“Tricia gave me quite a bit of direction in how to go about it,” she said.
Corinna said she moved from Tasmania at the start of 2005 to study at Box Hill Institute.
“A lot of people had said Box Hill Institute was a great place to study—it had a really good reputation,” she said.
“A lot of the students in my course had heard about the Institute because of its success in the Gown of the Year awards.”
