Back-up plan earns student scholarship

Business student Robert Susnig never expected to go to Box Hill Institute, but now he couldn’t be happier, especially after winning a $1000 ANZ Business Programs scholarship.

“I made Box Hill Institute a backup plan to university, as I completed VCE in 2004 and have worked and travelled since. However, I am glad that I did. The environment that Box Hill Institute has provided, as well as the dedication of the academic staff, has definitely contributed and helped me to achieve the results I have achieved,” said Robert.

Robert said that as a self-funding student the scholarship would be a very welcome financial boost to help pay for semester two fees, plus books.

Fellow scholarship winner, public relations-student Stephanie Lloyd, said that the benefit of the scholarship win was not only financial:

“I was so thrilled to win this scholarship as it will really help me with future choices regarding jobs and has given me more confidence with what I can achieve. As well helping financially, I will put this on my resume straight away. I’m really itching to finish study and use what I have learnt in this course,” said Stephanie.

Three $1,000 scholarships, sponsored by ANZ, are available to students wishing to undertake full time study in the Centre for Business Programs in 2009. For further information contact the Scholarship Coordinator on scholarships@bhtafe.edu.au or 1300 BOX HILL.
