Shanghai Dian Ji University (SDJU)

SDJU was our first Chinese extended campus partner, commencing in 2001.

First established in 1953, SDJU is an institution for the development of technological skills at a high level of proficiency. It evolved from the former Shanghai Electrical Machinery School into an institution with a nationwide reputation. The Shanghai government authorised its promotion to a university with undergraduate courses in 2004.

SDJU has two campuses, Minhang and Yangpu, and has more than 800 staff, including about 400 teachers.  Specialists and professors are invited to enhance the curriculum.

SDJU has seven departments: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Economic Engineering, Information, Science and Arts, and Foreign Language. SDJU boasts six undergraduate courses specialties with 29 vocational specialities. There are more than 8,000 full-time vocational students.

SDJU attaches great importance to its cooperative projects with Australia, Canada, and Germany since 2000. The percentage of graduates signing first-time employment contracts has remained above 95% for more than 10 years, securing its place among the top universities in Shanghai. Most SDJU graduates seek employment in high-tech enterprises in Shanghai, such as Shanghai Bao Gang Group, Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GE, Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator and Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery.
