English language admission requirements for formal courses
Entry to TAFE academic courses is based on English proficiency and your academic record.
Special entry for mature-aged students (over 18 years of age) is also availble and will be considered on the basis of past secondary study, employment skills or work experience.
1. English language admission requirements
Applicants are required to provide evidence of their English language ability.
a) For direct entry to Certificate, Diploma an dAdvanced Diploma courses (except for Nursing courses), the following language standards are required:

Note: for students whose Visa application will be determined under assessment level 3 or 4 requirements, IELTS is the only English test recognised for student visa purposes.
Guide to improving English language
Applicants with insufficient ability in English language may be required to undertake English Language Intensive Courses for International Students (ELICOS).
