Curriculum Maintenance Manager – Engineering Industries

Box Hill Institute is the Curriculum Maintenance Manager (CMM) for Engineering Industries in Victoria.

The main purpose of this function is to maintain the stock of Victorian crown copyright curriculum in vocational education and training across the engineering study areas and to provide advice on training issues to public and private training organisations. With the introduction of training packages over four years the advisory role of the Institute’s CMM section has been substantially expanded.

To assist training organisations with the implementation of training packages Box Hill Institute's CMM section has developed the capacity to give practical and hands-on advice to public and private training organisations. In this role the Instituteprovides assistance with:

  • interpreting and unpacking competencies;
  • packaging qualifications;
  • designing learning strategies;
  • designing and validating assessment tools;
  • customisation of training packages to meet industry training needs;
  • maintaining an extensive number of teacher networks across the engineering industries;
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) processes;
  • training gap assessment and gap training; and
  • change management from curriculum to training package based training delivery.

In addition, the Institute’s CMM section is involved in maintaining contacts and liaises with relevant national and state Industry Advisory Bodies (ITABs) and the Office of Training and Tertiary Education (OTTE) in the maintenance and review of training packages within its scope.
