What does this course involve?

If you’re keen to work as a graphic designer, preparing concepts and digital artwork ready for production, this is the course for you.
You will receive an introduction to design principles and elements, learn how to create technical drawings and produce digital images.
You will learn how to apply the design process when responding to briefs, develop a basic design concept and gain an understanding of graphic prepress.
You will also gain valuable industry experience with a practical placement in your second year.
Entrance requirements
- Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass.
- Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.
English Language Proficiency
- A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
- A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.
Special admission requirements
Applicants will be asked to supply evidence, through the presentation of a folio of art work, of their design ability. The criteria used for assessing the art work are: technical skill and accuracy, a sense of design, proportion and colour, observational drawing skills, an awareness of type and layout design and a clean and organised presentation. Students are expected to demonstrate knowledge of the course outcomes and the graphic art industry.
Strong communication skills, above average written and verbal English skills are desirable. Applicants are required to manage text documents in English and are expected to have above average proof reading skills.
Cost
$AUD9,800 per year, plus amenities and materials fees.
