FEE-HELP
If you are an Australian citizen or Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder, enrolling in a higher education (degree level course), you may be eligible for Commonwealth assistance through FEE-HELP.
FEE-HELP entitles you to defer all or part of your course fees. An additional 20% loan fee applies and repayment of the deferred fee is through the Australian taxation system once your income goes above the designated threshold ($44,912 in 2010). (*Rate may increase to 25% in 2011, pending possible government policy changes).
Who is eligible for FEE-HELP?
To be eligible for FEE-HELP, you must be either an:
- Australian citizen, or
- Permanent humanitarian visa holder. Applies to visa subclasses: 200 - 217, 803, 807, 809, 810, 817, 866.
Please note that permanent residents and New Zealand citizens are not eligible for FEE-HELP.
In addition, you must also have a sufficient lifetime FEE-HELP balance available. (In 2010, students are entitled to $85,062, over their lifetime.)
How do I apply for FEE-HELP?
If you are interested in applying for FEE-HELP, you must:
- read the FEE-HELP booklet
