What does this course involve?


The workplace component of this course is currently under review by the Victorian regulatory authority and there may be changes to its current form in 2008. All Victorian TAFE Institutes will be required to comply with any regulatory changes.

This course enables Automotive Technicians/Mechanics, Analysts, Field Service Operatives, Team Leaders and Workshop Foreman/Managers in the automotive and allied industries to further enhance their skills.

Emphasis is placed on combining off-the-job training with on-the-job applications. This will allow you to continue to earn money while you enhance your qualifications and career prospects. Assessment can be carried out in simulated work environment, on-the-job or in the workplace or by negotiated project work.

Entrance requirements

Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.

English Language Proficiency

A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.

Successful completion of Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology

Cost

Aus $11,500 per year
plus amenities and materials fees.

Diploma of Automotive Technology is the second and final stage of the pathway to the Diploma of Automotive Technology. For content of stage 1 please refer to information for Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology.
